Rules & Regulations – Virat University

At Virat University, we believe that education flourishes in an atmosphere of discipline, respect, and responsibility. These rules apply to all students enrolled in any category—regular, correspondence, vocational, paramedical, diploma, or skill-based programs.

1. General Conduct

  • Students must maintain discipline, politeness, and mutual respect on campus, in classrooms, online sessions, and during all university-related activities.

  • Ragging, harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind is strictly prohibited and punishable under university and legal norms.

  • Mobile phones and electronic devices must be switched off or kept on silent mode during classes, labs, and exams unless permitted.

2. Attendance & Participation

  • Regular attendance is mandatory for all regular and practical-based courses.

  • A minimum of 75% attendance is required to appear for examinations (unless stated otherwise by the affiliating board/university).

  • Students must participate in internal assessments, seminars, or practicals as scheduled.

3. Assignments & Examinations

  • Students must complete assignments, projects, and lab work by the given deadlines.

  • Cheating, copying, or using unfair means during exams will result in immediate disqualification and disciplinary action.

  • Examination and evaluation policies follow the norms of the respective board or university affiliation.

4. Fees & Payments

  • All students are required to pay fees as per the official fee structure and due dates.

  • Delay or failure in fee payment may lead to cancellation of admission, withholding of results, or denial of exam forms.

  • Fees once paid are non-refundable, except in rare, officially approved scenarios.

5. Dress Code & Campus Behavior (For Regular Campus Students)

  • Students must wear neat, modest, and appropriate attire while on university premises.

  • Loitering in the corridors or causing disturbance in classrooms is not permitted.

  • Cleanliness of campus and classrooms is a shared responsibility.

6. Academic Integrity

  • Plagiarism in assignments or research is strictly prohibited.

  • Students must not misrepresent qualifications, falsify documents, or tamper with university records.

7. Online & Distance Learning Rules

  • Students enrolled in distance or online learning must log in regularly, complete study modules, and appear for online exams as scheduled.

  • Virtual classes must be attended with video and audio guidelines, and in a distraction-free environment.

  • All digital content is for personal academic use only and may not be copied or shared publicly.

8. Identity & Documentation

  • Students must carry a valid Student ID Card issued by Virat University at all times on campus or during exams.

  • All academic records and documents submitted must be genuine and verifiable. Any forgery will lead to legal action.

9. Safety & Anti-Ragging Policy

  • Any incident of ragging must be reported immediately. Strict action will be taken in accordance with the UGC and State Government regulations.

  • Students are expected to uphold a safe and inclusive environment for all peers, irrespective of gender, caste, religion, or background.

10. Disciplinary Action

Violation of any rule may result in:

  • Verbal or written warning

  • Fine or suspension

  • Debarring from exams or classes

  • Expulsion from the university (in serious cases)

The university reserves the right to take strict disciplinary measures in accordance with institutional and legal policies.
